The Swedish company Fjällräven (translated as "Arctic fox") is now a legendary manufacturer of backpacks, clothing and other outdoor equipment. The result of the brand's long-term development is also an innovated line of advanced Kajka trekking backpacks. This word is defined by the Swedish explanatory dictionary, among other things, as "to move aimlessly on the water." Simply put, the journey can also be the destination...
The Kajka backpacks, including the 85-liter one, are modest and minimalist in appearance (like the entire Scandinavian design), but don't be fooled by the first impression. These advanced trekking backpacks are literally packed with smart features.
The Kajka backpacks are equipped with an iconic wooden frame made of birch, which is the only one of its kind in the world. Thanks to this frame, Kajka backpacks can carry even extremely heavy loads with maximally minimized burden on the carrier's back. The sustainability of the backpack in this regard is further supported by the fact that the wood used comes from traceable sources.
We know from the past that some clothing and equipment can actually harm health with their chemical treatments. This is not the case with Fjällräven Kajka backpacks, as they do not contain PFAS, which are perfluorinated and poly-fluorinated substances widely used in the second half of the 20th century.
Fjällräven backpacks are truly sustainable regardless of size. For example, the polyamide used is recycled, as are the lining and reinforced parts of the backpack. The manufacturer speaks of "sustainability through longevity," which should be standard for quality products regardless of the specific product. Compared to the previous generation, Kajka backpacks are easier to repair.
The main material used is vinylon F, which lasts a long time, is easy to care for, and for example, the even more famous Kånken backpack would not be what it is without it. The material is flexible and durable, and the manufacturer says that although it was created by humans, it feels as if it comes directly from nature.
