The Swedish company Fjällräven (translated as “arctic fox”) is today a legendary manufacturer of backpacks, clothing, and other outdoor equipment. The result of the brand's long development is also the range of Singi trekking backpacks, including this 48-liter model.
The Singi backpacks, including the 48-liter one, may look modest and minimalist (like the entire Scandinavian design), but don't be deceived by the first impression. These advanced trekking backpacks are literally packed with smart features.
We know from the past that some clothing and equipment, with their chemical treatments, can even harm health. This is not the case with Fjällräven Singi backpacks, as they do not contain PFAS, which are perfluorinated and polyfluorinated substances, widely used in the second half of the 20th century.
Fjällräven backpacks are genuinely sustainable regardless of size. For example, the polyamide used is recycled, and the use of organic cotton is also pleasing. The manufacturer speaks of so-called “sustainability through longevity”, which should be the standard for quality products regardless of the specific item.
The polyamide base is reinforced and water-resistant. To ensure the rest of the backpack is just as durable, the manufacturer has included a fitting rain cover that can easily be pulled over the backpack when needed. Other highly practical elements include the removable top lid and the possibility of accessing the backpack from the bottom. For example, you won't need to remove the rest of your gear to take out a sleeping bag.
Although the primary purpose of the Fjällräven Singi 48 backpack is trekking, it can also be used for hunting or fishing. Extra space can be added to the backpack with the help of original accessories from the Singi range. These might include attachments for carrying fishing gear, long weapons or a tripod for a camera. The advantages also include holders for ice axes or trekking poles and side compression straps (for example, for a sleeping mat).
The Singi backpacks are equipped with an iconic wooden frame, the only one of its kind in the world. Thanks to this frame, Singi backpacks can carry extremely heavy loads with maximally minimized strain on the wearer's back. The carrying system can also be easily adjusted to different back lengths of the wearer.
