The Phantom Sniper is a top-notch middle sized pack, its size predetermines it for three-day operations. It features loads of stowage space and an integrated removable rifle scabbard. The pack has been combat proven by US and British soldiers.
The Phantom Sniper has direct access to the main compartment, which is why on the top, instead of a lid, there is a pocket with several rows of modular webbing. Sides offer several functional features. In addition to the classic water bottle pocket, on the side you also find a long tubular sleeve for a 2l hydration pack by Source Tactical. On this pocket, there is another buckled pocket covered with a flap. This pocket will accommodate a 3l hydration bladder and features rows of MOLLE webbing. The sides of the pack can be compressed using compression straps for better distribution of weight. The pack features frontal access through a fold-away flap with a sturdy two-way zip. The tiltable flap is covered with a large amount of modular webbing. In the bottom of the pack is a pocket with an integrated rain cover, which can be removed.
The pack's main compartment features good organization. Around the interior there are compression pockets for small accessories and several rows of MOLLE webbing; the interior also features compression straps and a mesh panel to secure your personal radio. The main compartment can be divided into two smaller chambers via built-in velcro flap or connected into a large one. After detaching the scabbard from the pack, you can also detach the waist belt and shoulder straps and re-attach them back to the pack. Thanks to this modular system you will get a separate pack and the rifle scabbard.
A patented integrated scabbard system enables a comfortable carry of your rifle without using your hands. The scabbard is placed near the back panel for good distribution of weight and is wide enough to accommodate a military sniper rifle with mounted scope. If you do not carry a gun, the bottom flap can be shoved into the bottom of the pack and secured with a quick release buckle. The top of the scabbard is covered with a removable butt-cover secured via four buckles. The scabbard is attached to the pack through side plastic pieces. If need be, the scabbard can be detached completely via side zips and removing the plastic pieces. This way you get a separate rifle scabbard with shoulder straps.
Just like all other Eberlestock backpacks, the Phantom Sniper is also equipped with quality shoulder straps, which are sufficiently padded yet breathable due to the used 3D mesh material. In addition to that, the shoulder straps may be compressed using stabilization straps so as to adjust the distribution of weight and pressure on the shoulders. A big plus of the back system is its individual adjustability based on the height of the user. The back padding is simply massive and the central channel leaves enough room for the air to circulate around the spine. The pack fits comfortably and provides good ventilation thanks to quality padding. On the shoulder straps are several additional loops for the attachment of some extra gear. Shoulder straps feature quick release buckles to put the pack down fast when things get hot and of course, the pack also features carry handles, one on the top, one on each side. An elastic sternum strap adjustable in height will help you better distribute the carried load. On the waist belt are two rows of MOLLE webbing, it is fastened with a plastic buckle just like the sternum strap. In case you do not need it, you can simply undo the velcro in the back panel and remove it.
