Sawyer® SP2129 Micro Squeeze Water Filter

The Sawyer SP2129 Micro Squeeze filter is based on the globally most popular water filters - Sawyer Mini and Sawyer Squeeze, using the best of both of them. The filter utilizes hollow micro fibre, the walls of which are made of a membrane with 0.1 micron pores. With the total weight of mere 45 g and its really compact size, it will not take much space off of your backpack. It fits in your hand just fine and is always ready to use. All filters are made in the USA.

Versatility and easy cleaning

This filter features the same nozzle system like SP129, so you can close it or unscrew it for easier cleaning and replacement. With the reduction you can easily refill bottles with the standard PET design. The filter comes with the "backwash" reduction using a PET bottle without using the supplied syringe.

Fast, efficient, long lasting

Just like SP128, this product also offers an above average service life guarantee for up to 378,000 l of water due to its patented technology; in comparison with SP128, the SP2129 features significantly higher flow rate – approx. 1.5 l / min (indicative data). The filter comes with a 1 l collapsible bottle made from a new material, which is both more flexible and durable than the previous one. Moreover it features a reworked design due to which can the bottle stand on its own and the filling process is much easier. The most effective filtration using the Sawyer PointOne technology with absolute pore size of 0.1 micron ensuring to filter out 99.99999 % of all harmful bacteria (salmonella, cholera, E. coli, etc.) and parasitic protozoa (giardia a cryptosporidium).

Standards and certificates

The filter exceeds very strict US EPA and NSF requirements. The filtered water conforms to Czech and EU regulations on drinking water – SOP 06.0.52, ČSN EN ISO 9308-1 and SOP 06.0.3, ČSN EN ISO 6222. The filter conforms to the EU regulations 2008/60/EC, 95/45/EC and 2008/84/EC.

Use

The use is simple – fill the bottle / bag with water from any natural source, screw the filter on it, you have four options of what to do next:

1. squeeze the bottle and filter water into another bottle or another container you are going to use for drinking or cooking
2. drink straight from the filter – it features an on/off closure much like cycling bottles
3. connect the filter to a PET bottle and filter / pump over the water into it
4. connect the filter to a hydration bladder and drink comfortably from the hydration tube

Tip: the filter can be used with a regular PET bottle instead of the supplied collapsible container. You can also very easily filter the water straight into the PET bottle using a reduction (see option 3). This way you keep the water from getting contaminated.
