How does Concamo work?

This unique camouflage pattern consists of 25 interlocking layers that together create a chaotic illusion. The human brain is relatively poorly equipped to perceive optical illusions, and it becomes overwhelmed after only a short while. In short, the brain needs to explain what it sees in a simplified way, and in the pattern it begins to recognize natural shapes that are commonly found in nature. As a result, the observer passes by the masked person without the slightest suspicion. Concamo camouflage thus provides a person with perfect protection, concealment and buys them valuable time to complete the task.

Who is behind it?

Matthias Bürgin is the founder and owner of Concamo. He devoted almost his entire life to the development of camouflage. Already at the age of 10, he started working on camouflage patterns, and luckily for us, this endeavor did not pass him even into adulthood, when he worked with the Commandos. He designed the Concamo pattern based on experience from combat conditions and experience from real clashes. He devoted himself to the development of camouflage patterns as his hobby until 1992, when the Concamo pattern was founded.

At the very beginning of the development was the idea that the current camouflage patterns were not sufficient for professional users. The company started working on the development already in 1992 and continued until 2017, when it established cooperation with experts in perceptual psychology. Success did not take long. That same year saw a breakthrough in camouflage patterns, and a year later the Concamo Green pattern was introduced at the IWA fair. Currently, the Concamo family of camouflage patterns consists of eight patterns that will satisfy the most demanding users.

German armed forces

Concamo works closely with certified suppliers of the German armed forces to guarantee the highest possible quality of materials as well as trouble-free logistics. The first unit of the German federal government adopted the Concamo Green camouflage pattern even before its official launch in 2018. Shortly after, the pattern was extended to other government institutions in Germany. In cooperation with the military, the introduction of two more patterns followed: Concamo Brown and Concamo Beige.

Three versions cover a wide range of needs

Concamo Green is a universal camouflage pattern that achieves a very good camouflage effect on almost all green-brown surfaces. The company prides itself on creating a universal camo pattern that really works. Concamo Brown is specially designed for use in European and North American autumn and winter forests. It is also applicable in dry areas with a higher content of red color. When using the Concamo Brown camouflage pattern, a high level of stealth is achieved that was previously only possible with so-called ghillie suits. Concamo Beige is mainly intended for dry areas with a higher content of beige color. However, this pattern has proven to be effective in high-altitude and urban environments as well.
