We dare say that the pistol is the most common type of firearm. This popular short firearm offers versatile uses, making it suitable for use in police and military forces as well as in the civilian sphere.

As far as the civilian sphere is concerned, pistols are mainly used by people who may be victims of a violent crime in the future. Typically, these are businessmen, but as civilians it is also possible to describe workers of security agencies or security guards of buildings. The tactical deployment of the pistol allows its use in the protection of property or loved ones.

The history of pistols is quite varied and long. According to one of several theories, the name of the pistol even comes from Czech, from the period of the Hussite Wars. And specifically from the word „píšťala“ (whistle). In addition, the Hussites were one of the first to use firearms to a greater extent. Pistols were already in use before the 19th century, but it was in the 19th century that they began to take off. Self-loading pistols were created then, and smokeless gunpowder began to be used instead of black gunpowder.

Modern pistols were gradually developed mainly in the 20th century, with individual models differing primarily in trigger systems – on the other hand, the horizontally sliding and block-type slide mechanism is more or less the same for all pistols on the market today. Various trigger systems include, for example, single-acting, double-acting or exclusively double-acting triggers.

Compared to other weapons, pistols have another advantage – a wide range of accessories are available for them (including in our e-shop). There are various holsters, flashlights, reflex sights and other accessories to choose from, which will expand the possibilities of tactical use of your weapon.
