Are you behind enemy lines? Do you have to take care of yourself? This is exactly the scenario that inspired the LMF II knife. The LMF II Infantry Gerber knife is a massive and versatile survival tool. Former soldier Jeff Freeman was involved in the preparation of this terrifying-looking knife, which is more than 10“ long. The knife was tested by soldiers in the harshest conditions. This knife and its operating are very adaptable.
You will use it to cut animal skin, seat belts or to break hard plexiglass in a helicopter. The big plus of the LMF II Infantry Gerber knives is that they smoothly chop wood or they are used to build an improvised shelter. The shaped handle prevents blisters on the hands. The handle also absorbs shocks and prevents electric shocks. The clever placement of the grooves and holes allows the knife to be attached to the stick to create a spear.
The LMF II Infantry Gerber knife is made of high-quality steel. You will appreciate the good grip of the knife and accessories in the demanding conditions for which this knife is designed.
The drop point blade of the LMF II Infantry Gerber is made of high-quality rich carbon stainless steel 420HC.
The blade has a special black finish that eliminates unwanted glare and prevents corrosion.
There is a Gerber logo on the blade
On the jagged blade you will find a group of small teeth, which is separated from the other by one larger, shallow arch. The blade thus tears more smoothly and yet even more aggressively and without jerking, even solid and fibrous materials. This blade is designed, for example, for cutting belts, ropes, seat belts and clothing.
The ergonomic handle of the LMF II Infantry Gerber knife is made of durable nylon and fiberglass.
The knife is a full tang construction, ie. that it is made of one piece of steel and the handle consists of 2 handles attached to the knife with screws or rivets or it is one part formed directly on the knife. The construction of the full tang knife ensures its long life.
It has a rough texture and an arch on the underside for a safer and more secure grip.
The end of the handle widens downwards and thus safely prevents the knife from slipping out of the hand during work.
At the end of the handle is a tip (pommel) for breaking glass or striking an opponent.
There is also a lanyard hole.
The knife is equipped with a double-sided guard on the handle - protection against slipping fingers on the blade.
The notching on the back of the guard on the top and bottom of the handle aims not only to decorate the knife, but also functionality - an anti-slip platform through which you can apply pressure and guide the knife with your thumb or forefinger.
The LMF II Infantry Gerber knife comes with a durable belt sheath made of ballistic nylon in black. The low profile of the sheath facilitates movement and reduces noise. The sheath is equipped with 2 snap in safety straps for fixing the knife. The sheath can be attached to the belt with a belt drawstring or any other equipment with MOLLE strap, or it can also be worn attached to the leg using 2 supplied thigh straps with a plastic quick release buckles. The sheath has an integrated sharpener for keeping the blade sharp even under heavy knife loads on long journeys. The whetstone is patented.
