Lowa Zephyr MK2 GTX HI is a mission boot. These certified work footwear combine the ideal mixture of the latest materials that are ready for any mission. Thanks to their features, these shoes are suitable even into very demanding conditions. That is why they are popular with armies and police units worldwide.
MK2 means that this is the second generation of legendary Zephyr boots. Compared to the first generation, it features number of innovations. For example an innovative lacing hooks with a closed design, larger loops on the heel for easier putting on and also more robust upper thanks to stitching shifted outside of the flex zone.
Zephyr MK2 GTX HI combines perfect blend of materials and technologies. MID-CUT upper, which is made from suede and patented Cordura material is ideal for example during fast roping and parachuting. The suede used is water-repellent and tear resistant, Cordura is breathable and abrasion resistant.
Zephyr MK2 GTX HI is equipped with waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane. Gore-Tex membranes are years proven and you can rely on them. Just as you can rely on innovative double-layer Polyurethane midsole with LOWA Monowrap frame, which comfortably cradles the foot and support it.
These Lowa boots are intended not only for parachuting, but if you have ever done such an activity, then you know that shoes for these special purposes require special features. For example closed hooks to prevent the hooks from becoming caught in suspension lines and also good heel cushioning to lessen the impact of landing. All these features prevent potential injury.
Zephyr MK2 GTX HI use unique two-zone lacing system, where the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the shoe can be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways.
MK2 GTX HI is made by using relatively complex injection process. This injection process attaches the slip-lasted upper directly to the sole. This offers better comfort and optimal cushioning. The upper boot is placed into a specially designed mould. Various layers of PU foam padding are then poured into it. In the process, the sole and upper are bonded together.
Lowa-Monowrap frame creates three-dimensional design midsole, comfortably cradles the foot and support it, especially when the wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. The tight position of the foot in the shoe means that you do not get tired easily when walking. Moreover, the midsole perfectly insulates.
All the Zephyr MK2 models use X-Trac Military sole, that offers the highest anti-slip standards (SRC – ISO 20347), perfectly insulates and provides optimal slip protection on slick, wet and oily surfaces.
