The company ATSKO/SNO-SEAL, Inc., provides products and information to achieve maximum performance from footwear, clothing, and sports equipment. Atsko was founded to open new markets for its product Sno-Seal, a genuine beeswax impregnation.
Sno-Seal impregnation was developed in 1933 for the maintenance and protection of leather ski boots.

Sno-Seal® is an impregnation product made from genuine beeswax that protects leather from rain, sun, snow, and salt. It exceptionally well repels road salt and thus prevents staining on shoes. It prevents water from penetrating the leather by filling its pores and drying into a solid wax form on the surface. Sno-Seal® also protects leather from drying out, keeping it supple and strong in the driest climatic conditions.

However, due to its original composition, it does not penetrate all layers of leather. In contrast, creams, oils, and products made of animal fats seep through all layers of leather, gradually filling all its pores and natural openings in the material structure, which are meant to insulate and absorb sweat.

Animal fats and oils disrupt and decompose leather. In tanneries, fats are removed from leather to preserve its integrity. So why return them to the leather? Unlike animal fats, Sno-Seal^® does not spoil and thus does not disrupt or decompose leather.

Sno-Seal^® allows you to feel more comfortable even in boots equipped with Gore-Tex^® membranes and the like. Sno-Seal^® does not affect the Gore-Tex^® membrane's function, and the membrane does not protect the boot surface from moisture and other adverse effects. While the membrane protects your feet from external moisture, when the boot is soaked with water, the leather cannot breathe and is impermeable. Soaked leather then draws heat away from your feet, leading to a feeling of moisture and cold.

Sno-Seal^® will not only keep you warm and dry but also help you resist fatigue. A regular leather boot can absorb up to half a kilogram of water. This means that when walking a distance of 1 km, you must raise an additional 688 kg. Sno-Seal^® keeps the entire boot dry, warm, and light.
