You know what they say about people who say you can't have HD optics, robust construction, and a great price-performance ratio at the same time? They simply don't know the Crossfire HD binoculars byVortex Optics. Add a GlassPak smart bag and we have a bino that's hard to find. This series also includes the currently viewed Crossfire HD 8 x 42 binoculars.
The Crossfire HD 8 x 42 are binoculars of small dimensions and relatively low mass. It has ample magnification up to eight times, lens diameter 42 mm and an excellent field of view 119.79 m / 1,000 yd (i.e. 131 m / 1,000 m). Once assembled, it can also fit in a small backpack or satchel. Crossfire HD 8 x 42 is an ideal companion not only for hiking, it does not unnecessarily add to the weight-bearing gear, but it does provide a quality observation option.
Roof prisms and lenses with anti-reflective coating FMC (fully multi-coated) on outside glass parts whose surfaces are in contact with air provide excellent image quality due to extremely high light transmission. They provide optimal observation results. This state-of-the-art technology guarantees a perfectly clear image with high contrast, sharp contours and natural color resolution.
An optimized system with selected glass elements to achieve exceptionally high resolution (high definition), to reduce chromatic aberrations and to provide excellent colour fidelity, edge-to-edge sharpness and first-class light transmittance.
The focus is controlled by a center wheel, so at one point we focus both sides simultaneously. It's accurate enough to allow it to focus on nearby objects from as close as 1.83 m. On the right eyepiece there is a dioptric correction, through which we adapt the image exactly for our eyes. By allowing the bino to bend at the joint along the centre axis, the distance of the output lenes eye spacing can be adjusted. The bino is thus adapted to each, whether for children or adults, with eyes close together or far apart.
Specify an object for observation, about 20 yd (about 18.29 m) distant. Stand in one place at all times. First, use your hand to cover the right lens and follow the object with your left eye through the left tube. Turn the center wheel, until the focus is in your imagination. Subsequently, cover the left lens with your hand and look with your right eye into the right tube. Now rotate to adjust the wheel for correction of dioptres, until the focus is in your imagination. Remember or make a note of the setting of the diopter wheel, in case you need to reset it. From now on, you will use only the centre wheel.
It is waterproof and impact-resistant, plus filled with nitrogen and sealed with "o" rings, so that it does not fog up inside. Special Rubber Armor treatment brings long life, absorbs shocks and provides protection of the bino from mechanical damage, as well as additional protection against environmental influences. It also prevents the user from sliding off their hands, giving the user a perfect, sure and firm grip in cold and hot conditions, in rain or snow, in intense sunlight, whether the bino is wet or frozen, thus under all conditions and circumstances.
Special sealing technology protects high-end optics from external influences. No dust, no dirt and no moisture can penetrate the telescope and cause damage and/or defects in the supplied image.
An eye rubber cup allows the use of binoculars with glasses. The bino can be either held in the hand during observation (for wearing binoculars suspended from the neck, the bino is equipped on both sides with traverse eyes to secure the supplied strap) or place it on a tripod (for this purpose, the bino is fitted with a tripod adapter slot). It also offers an option to attach to a car window.
And when we don't use the bino, we will store it in the supplied GlassPak case, with a strap for protection, comfort and a quick pull-out of the bino for use in which the device is safely stored and transported. The covers protect both the lenses. In the case we also find a cleaning towel a carry strap.
When not using the bino, put the lens caps on and store it in the case. To maintain the binocular's brilliant performance, lenses must be regularly kept clean, removing smudges, impurities, oils or fingerprints. First, always remove larger impurities (so as not to damage the lenses). Then, with your breath mist the lenses and clean them with a non-abrasive cloth. Never use tissues (either paper or cloth), cotton or flannel fabrics. They could cause scratches, which then spoil the view. Ideally, use a dedicated set, such as Fog Free by Vortex.
Warning: Do not use the bino to observe the sun or other sources of intense light. This bino is not designed for this and such surveillance can damage the retina or cornea and in extreme cases may lead to blindness!
