The Solo 8 x 36 RT is a tactical monocular telescope designed to be transported as standard equipment and kept handy whenever a more detailed view is needed. It's resilient and literally stuffed with modern technology. It is equipped with a focus cross to accurately determine the distance of the observed object or other target. Anti-reflective lenses on all glass surfaces that come into contact with air give a very clear image. The telescope is light and compact, easy to operate, is waterproof and impact-resistant plus filled with nitrogen and sealed with "o"-rings, so it does not fog inside.
The telescope is equipped with an image focus and a cross. The focus is operated with a classic swivel wheel, using the thumb and forefinger of one hand to set it. The sharpening of the cross is done with a wheel closer to us, the further away we do the sharpening of the image. Both reticle and image can be so comfortably focus for each eye.
An eye rubber cup can be rolled down for use binoculars with glasses. For optimum viewing without glasses, leave the cup uncoated, the cup gradually expands on the outside and thus blocks the light coming from the side.
Special treatment by rubbing delivers long life, absorbs shocks and provides protection of the telescope from mechanical damage, as well as other protection against environmental influences. Combined with ribbing prevents hand slipping, giving the user a perfect, sure and firm grip in the cold, in the heat, in the rain, in the seawater and in the intense sunlight, thus under all conditions and circumstances.
Special sealing technology protects high-end optics from external influences. No dust, no dirt and no moisture can penetrate the telescope and cause damage and/or defects in the supplied image.
Multi-coated lenses provide excellent image quality due to extremely high light transmission. They provide optimal observation results. This state-of-the-art technology guarantees a perfectly clear high contrast image, with sharp contours and with natural color resolution.
A bolted clip allows the telescope to attach to MOLLE straps vests, backpack or other equipment. Or you can hook it by the edge of your pocket and the like, so it's always at hand. The telescope also comes with an attachment cord, for which the eye is ready on the telescope. And if we don't use the telescope, we will store it in the supplied soft pouch, where it is safely stored and transported.
With this cross it is easy to determine the distance and size of the observed objects. Each telescope takes a different form of this aiming cross. Tactical Solo 8x 36 RT uses a cross that works with MRAD units.
If we are aware of an object's height or width, it is easy to determine what distance it is at.
Distance formula:
object size in yards or meters x 1,000 / value of scale on cross axis (MRAD) = distance in yards or meters
object size in inches x 27.8 / scale value on cross axis (MRAD) = distance in yards
The use of the vertical axis of the cross (especially in rugged terrain) is preferred if the height of the object is known. The horizontal axis is intended for the width of the object.
If we know the distance of an object, we can easily determine its size with the cross.
Size calculation formula:
distance in yards or meters x value of scale on cross axis (MRAD) / 1 000 = object size in yards or meters
distance in inches x value of the scale on the cross axis (MRAD) / 27.8 = object size in yards
Monoculars are not designed for viewing the sun or other intense light sources. Such action could damage the retina and cornea of the eyes - even to the point of causing blindness!!!
