The Legio IX fixed blade knife from Hydra Knives is named after the legendary 9th Hispanic Legion of the Roman army, which was one of the oldest legions in the early AD era – and which mysteriously disappeared during the 2nd century, leaving only the legend behind. And as the name suggests, this knife is especially suitable for tactical use.
The Hydra Knives Legio IX knife was designed by Spanish designer Miguel Barbudo, who was inspired by the classic Spanish Macho Riojano style. You can choose from two models, with a sandblasted blade and a blade with a black finish. The knife is not only designed, but also directly manufactured in Spain.
The blade of this knife is made of high-quality Sleipner cryogenic steel with high hardness (60-63 HRC) and has a full tang construction, which means that it also goes through the entire length of the handle. It is equipped with a hollow cut and has a clip point shape.
As already follows from the full tang construction, the durable handle of this knife consists of two grips. These are made of G10 material, which has ideal properties for use on knife handles. The handles come in blue or green and are sandblasted. They are connected to each other with security screws with a torx star – which is an advantage if you happen to need to tighten them from time to time. At the end of the handle there is an integrated loop for a safety cord.
The package also includes a black kydex sheath, which is equipped with a tightening screw and also a nylon belt loop with a soft rubber PVC loop (the so-called scout carry system).
