On the Alano knife, the Spanish company Hydra Knives collaborated with a home designer named Miguel Barbudo. This is a tactical knife that was named after one of the oldest hunting dog breeds. The Alano race was able to fight both bulls and wild boars and is said to have come to Spain in the 5th century after the fall of Rome together with the Alan tribe.
Like some other Hydra Knives knife models, the Alano comes from Miguel Barbuda, who left his distinctive design signature to it. The Hydra Knives Alano tactical knife with a fixed blade was not only designed but also manufactured in Spain.
The blade of this knife is made of high quality Sleipner cryogenic steel with a high hardness (60-63 HRC) and has a full tang construction, which means that it also goes through the entire length of the handle (while at the level of the handle you will find a double "Sub-Hilt" finger guard). It is equipped with a hollow cut and has a clip point shape. The surface is treated with black powder coating.
As already follows from the full tang construction, the durable handle of this knife consists of two grips. These are made of G10 material, which has ideal properties for use on knife handles. The grips come in either blue or green and are connected to each other using torx star safety screws – which is a plus if you happen to need to tighten them from time to time. At the end of the handle there is an integrated loop for a safety cord.
The package also includes a black kydex sheath, which is equipped with a tightening screw and also a nylon belt loop with a soft rubber PVC loop (the so-called scout carry system).
