Holosun® SCS-MOS GR open micro reflex sight

The SCS-MOS GR open micro reflex sight from the traditional weapon optics manufacturer Holosun is designed for mounting on both short and long firearms (up to recoil equivalent to caliber 9.5×73 (.375 weatherby), without any compromises for the user. It is one of the most advanced reflex sights in the history of the Holosun brand.

Solar-charged reflex sight

This reflex sight is charged through a small integrated solar panel. Some Holosun reflex sights have offered this feature before, but the SCS-MOS GR model includes a new generation of the SOLAR-FAIL-SAFE system, which does not require any additional integrated battery for its operation. The internal charging system includes a rechargeable accumulator that offers high longevity and works in tandem with the mentioned solar panel.

The accumulator is used only occasionally

The integrated accumulator is used only occasionally in this reflex sight. Under standard lighting conditions, the solar panel alone is sufficient to power the reticle. Only if you spend some time in poor lighting conditions will the diode start drawing from the accumulator's capacity. However, the draw is minimal and standardized at the microA level. And when the time comes to replace the accumulator in a few years, it can be done simply and without unnecessary obstacles.

Reticle with automatic adaptation

An interesting feature is the reticle, which automatically adjusts to the surrounding light. The reflex sight measures the light intensity itself and adjusts the reticle to the intensity of natural light, even to an attached flashlight. It offers 12 levels of brightness intensity (2 for night vision). As for the reticle itself, it is green, and you can choose between a 2 MOA dot or a 32 MOA pattern.

Low-profile base, compact design

A benefit of this Holosun open micro reflex sight is also its low-profile base, ensuring compatibility with fixed sights. Overall, this micro reflex sight is compact, but the manufacturer makes no compromises regarding the screen, which is sufficiently large (with dimensions of 1.6cm × 2.31cm) and also features aspheric glass with zero image distortion.

Direct SCS mount

The direct SCS mount is another element of the Holosun SCS-MOS GR micro reflex sight, which means you can easily mount this reflex sight on the slide of a firearm without any adapters. However, note that the reflex sight is not compatible with Glock pistols that are not prepared for MOS (modular optic system) and further with Glock 43 and 48 MOS SLIM variants.

Advanced electronics

The reflex sight is equipped with advanced control electronics that can turn off the device (specifically the reticle) after a period of inactivity and then reactivate it with movement. Of course, you can also turn off the reflex sight manually. In that case, it cannot be turned on by movement – a manual reactivation is necessary. The advantage is the memory of the last used reticle.

Compatibility with night vision

Holosun reflex sights are compatible with night vision systems in the vast majority of models. Specifically, the SCS reflex sight can automatically set the night vision mode in two intensity levels, as mentioned above.

Lastly, we must mention the quality of workmanship and the materials used, primarily titanium. In the field of firearms, it is the top-notch quality material available. The optics are also parallax-free with unlimited eye relief.
