Light My Fire Sweden AB is a company from Malmö, Sweden. In 1995, the founder of this company, Michael Odqvist, came across an ancient secret - MayaSticks, the sticks of the old Mayans. He was fascinated by the absolute brilliance of these resinous "fire starting chips." Not only was it a quick, easy, and reliable way to start a fire, the sticks were also completely natural, made from waste - scraps and trimmings from pine trees cut by local residents of Guatemala. By starting production on a larger scale within the so-called fair trade framework, Michael helped four hundred of these descendants of Mayan Indians earn more money to start sending their children to school.

A year later, the fire starters were introduced in Sweden. Unfortunately, the timing was unfavorable, no one really understood the product, and the company did not have enough money to promote and "sell" the product. It was a complete flop back then. However, the company loved MayaSticks and believed that others - potential customers - would love them too. Today Light My Fire^® produces and successfully sells fire starters and fire steels in several product lines - Swedish FireSteel 2.0^®, Swedish FireKnife^®, and Tinder selection. The product range is complemented by the Wild Kitchen Collection series - practical dishes for eating and drinking in nature - and also Grandpa's FireFork™ - a practical tool for roasting over an open fire.
