This steel is produced in China. It is a standard type of martensitic stainless steel, manufactured by adding molybdenum and vanadium for better hardness and resistance to early wear.
Identical international steel grades include the American AISI 440A and the Japanese SUS 440A.
The steel is primarily used for the production of highly hard and highly wearable products, such as high-quality knives and scissors, as well as medical equipment.
Steel 7Cr17MoV is especially prominent in the knife and scissors industry, including the internationally recognized Swiss Army Knife.
