The Swedish company Fjällräven (translated as "arctic fox") is now a legendary manufacturer of backpacks, clothing and other outdoor equipment. The result of the brand's long development is also the Ulvö 30 backpack in a minimalist Scandinavian design, which belongs to the High Coast product line.
The thirty-liter Fjällräven Ulvö 30 backpack is suitable for everyday use, for example, when commuting to work or for sports, but also for (mainly one-day but also weekend) outdoor activities. The main space of the backpack is divided into two inner compartments, where you can naturally have equipment for different purposes in each.
This backpack is made from an advanced material called Bergshell, which is waterproof, exceptionally strong (resistant even to abrasion and tearing), and sustainable at the same time. Bergshell is made in part from recycled polyamide, which holds the Global Recycled Standard certification, and is laminated with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). This ensures a water column up to 10,000mm.
From the past, we know that some clothing and equipment can even harm health with their chemical treatments. This is not the case with the Fjällräven Ulvö 30 backpack, as it does not contain PFAS, which are perfluorinated and polyfluorinated substances widely used in the second half of the 20th century.
As already mentioned, the polyamide used to make the Bergshell material is recycled, which is certainly a sustainable solution. The manufacturer speaks of "sustainability through longevity," which should be a standard for quality products regardless of the specific item.
