First Care Products Ltd. is based in the Israeli city of Lod, where it was established in 1995. Its range, which it develops itself, includes medical equipment for pre-hospital care, including bleeding control and treatment of traumatic injuries.

In 2012, the American company PerSys Medical purchased a majority share in First Care Products. Nine years later, in 2021, PerSys Medical was acquired by Safeguard Medical, which offers a wide portfolio of equipment for emergency medicine.

Israeli Bandage in the Spotlight

The company became famous mainly for one of its products, the Emergency Bandage, also known as the Israeli bandage. Its purpose is the rapid and effective stopping of bleeding directly in the field. Important features of this bandage include a sterile non-adherent pad, which reduces the patient's pain during bandage removal; an integrated pressure applicator for more effective bleeding control; a closure bar for proper bandage securing; and vacuum-sealed packaging with long shelf life, which is compact, lightweight, and also water-resistant.

The Israeli bandage is popular among officially appointed military unit medics, including those operating in larger conflicts. Similarly, it can be used if you decide to upgrade your home first aid kit or car first aid kit.

Better Than Previous Solutions

The Israeli bandage was invented by Israeli military medic Bernard Ben-Natan, who was looking for a solution better than what was available on the market at the time. For instance, it addressed improvised methods like using a stone to apply pressure. The bandage was launched on the market after years of development and testing and quickly gained popularity among both experts and lay users.
