Nobody wants to walk around in dirty clothes. Not only is it unsightly, but dirt, moisture, mud and dust reduce the functional properties of the individual pieces - that is, if we stay in the outdoor area. Special functional clothing is made of softshell or membrane materials such as Gore-Tex^®, the primary purpose of which, in addition to an extra layer of insulation, is also protection against moisture.

Functional materials need functional detergents

But if you have a jacket or trousers made of these special materials, then you probably already know that these materials also need special care. Classic washing powders have a similar effect on their functionality as the dirt they are supposed to remove. They destroy the porosity of these materials (i.e. the ability to move excess moisture to the surface from the inside), as well as the ability to resist water from the outside. Sweat and other moisture will then condense under the jacket or trousers, and the meaning of functional clothing is thus completely lost. You could go straight into nature in a polyester tracksuit!

How about a visit to the dry cleaners?

Until now, for most of us, the only solution to this complicated situation was to visit a specialized dry cleaner, where they have their own procedures for washing functional clothing. But such a solution is not only relatively financially demanding, but also means at least two visits to another institution and thus lost time. We would therefore recommend a visit to a dry cleaner in cases where you can no longer deal with dirt or a particularly "stubborn" stain.

Alternative – special detergent

A suitable alternative is to purchase a special detergent that is suitable for use with the specific material in question. Such a detergent is usually a little more expensive than classic powders and gels of well-known brands, but washing in it will still be many times cheaper than the aforementioned dry cleaner.

If we are not sure whether we can use the given product for which piece of clothing, the label will certainly advise us. Thus, while observing other "formalities" (such as the maximum water temperature indicated on its label or a clean washing machine!) we can wash and clean our favorite piece of functional clothing without fear of losing it.

What sets special detergents apart?

Special detergents for functional clothes differ from the classic ones, commonly available in supermarket chains, mainly because they do not contain ingredients that would stick to the surface of the clothes after the washing cycle is completed. We are talking here, for example, about various bleaches, brighteners, phosphates or fragrances. These components can even make up to 2 percent of the total weight of the garment over time (after several washes).

Such components from functional properties limit billowing and breathability, which we mainly rely on for functional clothing. Fortunately, this negative disappears with specialized detergents. Recently, it is also thanks to nanotechnologies. These washing and cleaning agents contain microparticles that can carefully and completely reliably remove odors and dirt and, above all, not damage or limit the properties of our clothes.

Ecological approach

In addition to specialized washing and cleaning products for functional clothing, we also offer washing gels that use an ecological approach. Which means that their composition is based on raw materials of natural origin, and these gels do not contain microplastics, phosphates, brighteners, sulfates, dyes or preservatives.

In addition, these gels extend the life of your clothes by maintaining the quality of the material and colors. And they are effective even at a washing temperature of 30 °C. And that means further savings for your finances and the environment.
