This unusual piece of equipment is designed to be mounted on vehicles where together with a connected hydration reservoir serves as a water distribution port for up to six persons. This way the crew will be able to keep their personal hydration systems full at all times.
For this reason, the VHS was part of standard equipment on vehicles at Dakar Rally 2014. The system consists of a hub with cover, 213cm main tube, six 152cm drinking tubes and six drinking valves. This entire system may be easily packed and stowed in a handy zipped nylon pouch.
The actual mounting of the adapter as well as its functioning are not very complicated. The adapter may be fixed to the vehicle ceiling or its sides. It can be attached using straps with velcro. As soon as the adapter is attached, the only thing left to do is to connect the hub to a water source using the main tube. Then attach tube valves to the hub and route the tubes to the designated spots. Finally, click on personal drinking valves and the system is ready to go.
