The SK Group, to which the Meprolight division belongs, consists of companies engaged in the development and production of various products used for defense. These companies supply their products all over the world, not only to civilian individuals, but also to government organizations, armies and police forces. The owner of SK Group is Israeli businessman Samy Katsav.

In particular, Meprolight in the SK Group portfolio focuses on the production of a wide range of electro-optical and optical sights and devices, laser rangefinders, night vision and thermal vision devices or reflex sights, including accessories for these products. Its clients again include police and army forces as well as civilians.

History of the brand

Meprolight was founded in 1990 and almost immediately became the primary supplier of red dot sights, combat optics and general sighting systems to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). In Israel, every citizen is required to serve in the military – which means, among other things, that every Meprolight employee gets the knowledge needed for product development, so to speak, first hand.

Israel declared independence in 1948, and since then the country has been almost constantly on alert. But as they say, those who are prepared are not surprised. The Meprolight brand was founded in order to contribute in its measure to this preparation. But Israel is far from its only customer – over time, the brand has found its customers almost all over the world.
