Manta Defense was established in 2009, back then it was known as MantaRails. Quite soon, the company began to compete with large manufacturers. In 2010 Manta introduced Micro Pocket Switch Holder, that allows a firearm operator to simply slide a pressure pad into the Micro Pocket and snap the Switch Holder on the rail in a matter of seconds. MantaRails was honored to begin supplying products to the United States Marine Corps.

The company realized that they have become more than just a gun rail accessory manufacturer as they were developing new products and that is why they changed company name to simply Manta Defense.
