First aid and shooting courses in autumn 2023

Autumn is the ideal time for various courses and self-education. So let's take a look at some interesting events where you could supplement your knowledge in the field of outdoor survival or medicine, or even improve your shooting skills. The range of courses on offer across the country this year is really wide.

Master first aid

First of all, we will mention the medical category courses - this is the most important in all situations. Also in the autumn, medical seminars continue, especially those under the ZDrSEM association. Open courses for the public are divided by category and, especially in autumn 2023, you will find a wide range of options for both one-day and multi-day training courses.

First aid for raftsmen, mountaineers and ordinary people

The Basic, Standard and Respond courses teach you how to work effectively to save life and health in different types of injuries or medical conditions. 

In Znojmo, a specific medical course for raftsmen will take place in November, and several dates have been announced for a six-day outdoor first aid course called Horal in the autumn located in Vysočina. The one-day Mama course, where you will learn how to save a child's life in various critical situations, is certainly interesting.

Tactical medical courses

Then there are the special courses, especially combat and tactical first aid, offered by Hard Task Training to its customers. Most of its activities are carried out at the Oleško shooting range in the Travčický forest in the Litoměřice district. This means that it is in western Bohemia, but within a comfortable driving distance from Prague, for example.

Hard Task's medical courses include the aptly named Combat Lifesaver or Combat Lifesaver Advanced. The Fatale course, which focuses on saving lives with improvised tools or the bare minimum of medical supplies, also sounds very interesting.

In addition, Hard Task Training also organises courses called Tactical Emergency Casualty Care and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Advanced. Courses based on TECC principles are suitable for amateurs as well as members of the armed forces or the integrated rescue system. If you are interested in medical training of this type, but it is closer for you to South Bohemia than to Oleško, then you can take advantage of Elite Lhenice in the town of the same name near Prachatice. It offers a two-day NAEMT-TECC course not only for members of the armed security forces or a TECC-Tier II course. A certified tactical medicine course under the NAEMT (NAEMT-TECC Provider) takes place at the end of September.

Do you love the outdoors and mountains? Then you could benefit from a course in outdoor first aid or a course for mountain guides.

Become a mountain guide

Not everyone can be a mountain guide - you need to have sufficient knowledge and an official certificate to do so. You will get both at the courses of the Czech Mountain Guides Association, which you will not finish in autumn, but at least you will start. The longer course for the National Mountain Guide and the follow-up module for the UIMLA International Mountain Guide start at the beginning of October. 

These modules consist of sub-courses where you will learn as much as possible, e.g. about orientation and navigation in mountain terrain, leading people or outdoor first aid. If you are a mountaineer, you can also use them in everyday life. More information can be found here.

Learn to control your weapon

The autumn has seen an abundance of shooting and tactical courses, which is certainly not a bad thing. Just choose the one that suits you best in terms of orientation, date and venue. Let's take a look at some of them.

Aegis Academy

The Aegis Academy, which carries out its activities at the shooting range in Hrobčice near Bílina, has prepared a well-arranged offer of courses for autumn 2023. So they are especially suitable for West Bohemians. In September there will be a K1 course called "Basics of defensive shooting", in October a K2 course "Advanced techniques of defensive shooting", and finally a K4 course "Defensive shotgun". Česká zbrojovka

More dates of shooting training courses were announced for autumn 2023 by the Česká zbrojovka from Uherský Brod (CZUB). However, individual events are not only held in East Moravia, but also at shooting ranges in Příbram or Orlová. The individual courses can be purchased directly on the Česká zbrojovka e-shop, where you can also choose the date and venue.

Trigger Service

If you are from Moravia, then you may like the offer of shooting, experience or professional courses from the Brno company Trigger Service. During September, dates have been announced specifically for the basics of safe gun handling and advanced Glock maintenance and tuning. More information can be found on this website.

Thor Tactical

Thor Tactical, a company based in central or northern Bohemia, also has a good selection of courses on its website. There are currently dates for September and October for pistol shooting or assault rifle shooting courses, as well as courses in firearms licence preparation, defensive shooting and close protection. More information here.

Direct Force

Direct Force is the trademark of retired soldier Peter "Bart" Máša. He organizes shooting and tactical courses around Brno, especially in Velká Bíteš and Ježkovice near Vyškov. A list of current courses organized by Direct Force can be found here.

Hard Task Training

Finally, there is the course offer from Hard Task Training, which we have already mentioned in connection with the medical courses. This offer includes various types of shooting courses, as well as tactical courses or self-defence training. The events take place not only on the home ground in Oleško, but also in the Poldovka complex in Kladno, at the Central Bohemian base of Helitom company or in Popice in South Moravia.
