Back to school! This time, however, it will not be about multiplication tables, but about combat medicine. The Elite Training Center Lhenice was at the birth of TCCC and TECC teaching in the Czech Republic and for almost 20 years has been teaching proven procedures from the combat environment, based on real experiences (lessons learned) and supported by clinical studies. The school offers quality facilities for students, which it continuously expands. The new wave of courses starts already in September, so book your place in time!
Elite Training Center Lhenice is an educational institute accredited by the American NAEMT (National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians) and its goal is to provide the lay and professional public with basic as well as advanced knowledge regarding the rescue of trauma patients in the pre-hospital environment.
Tactical and combat medicine began to be taught in our territory in 2005, when awareness of TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care, emergency medical care in combat conditions) began to spread in the community of military medics and outside the special forces. This system gradually began to replace the existing British procedures BALTS/BARTS (Battlefield Advanced Trauma Life Support and Battlefield Advanced Resuscitation Techniques and Skills).
In 2010, a new TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) system was created in the field of combat medicine, which is based on the TCCC principles. In collaboration with its founder, Dr. David Callaway, we managed to adapt these procedures and tailor them legislatively to the Czech environment. We immediately started teaching the TECC concept to interested parties from the armed security forces and the civilian population.
This specific topic has also generated a lot of interest among members of the shooting community and travelers who visit countries with poor health infrastructure. It aims to provide urgent care to the injured in a dangerous environment and long-term separation from help.
Close cooperation and direct links with the Commissions for Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (CoTECC) allow them to participate in the development and updating of the principles of providing trauma care in combat and tactical conditions. On the professional side, they also cooperate with US National Guard and Special Forces units, with whom we organize trainings here and abroad. In 2017, they became the first official educational partner of the CoTECC commission for the Czech Republic.
The long-term work paid off and in 2022 they received NAEMT (National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians) certification. They have thus become one of more than 9,000 training centers worldwide authorized to conduct licensed TCCC Combat Medicine, TECC Tactical Medicine, FOTS First Responder Courses and ADHR (All Hazard Disaster Response) courses.
Successful graduates of their courses can thus prove themselves with a globally recognized certificate and, especially in the case of members of the armed forces, become equal partners in the field of providing emergency care in a tactical and combat environment.
The training center is constantly expanding its facilities for students. In addition to teaching spaces, it offers e.g. a crossfit gym, accommodation facilities and social facilities, the plan is to expand with wellness and saunas, which will offer the possibility of high-quality post-workout regeneration. On the training polygon with a climbing wall, simulations of medical scenarios and exercises for evacuation of the wounded (Blackhawk helicopter model) take place.
The word "Elite" is not in the name of this educational institute by chance. From the very beginning, it is based on providing high-quality, comprehensive and up-to-date information to its students, who are accompanied on the courses by professional paramedics and doctors with extensive experience from combat, expeditionary and hospital environments.
Their courses can be held both during and outside of the regularly scheduled dates – in this case, they are intended for groups of at least 6 students, in which they always try to accommodate not only the date of the course, but often also the requirement to "tailor the course to your needs" according to the client's preference. So if you are interested in this unique type of medical courses based on drill and practice, they are certainly the right solution in today's security-not-very-stable times.
The complete offer of courses can be found on their website. You can also find them on Facebook and Instagram as Elite Training Center Lhenice.
