Lansky® Diamond Sharpening Stone - 6"x2" Fine

Lansky Diamond Bench Stones are designed for professional knife sharpening and woodworking tool care. All stones have diamond grit surface for quick and efficient sharpening. Two sizes and five grits available. All Bench Stones come with high-quality plastic case that raises the stone for maximum safety and comfort. The base has a non-slip rubber frame. 

Instructions for use 

Step 1 - select the proper stone for your edge 

• Extra Coarse or Coarse – for completely dull or damaged edge
• Medium – for maintaining an already sharp edge 
• Fine or Extra Fine – to hone/ polish finished edge 

Step 2 - set the stone on a flat, stable surface 

Step 3 - detect the angle on the blade you intend to sharpen; then bring the edge to the stone 

Step 4 - push the edge of the blade across the stone in one motion (just like you were trying to slice a thin layer off the top of the stone), maintain a consistent angle using light pressure. Maintaining consistent angle is neccesary for the best results.

Step 5 - repeat approx 3 - 4 times then switch to the other side 

Step 6 - repeat until the edge is sharp

Step 7 - after each use clean your stone with damp cloth and keep in cool dry place.  

Suggestions 

For best results go from extra coarse (grit 70) to extra fine (grit 1000) – Extra Coarse -> Course -> Medium -> Fine -> Extra Fine

start with 3 - 4 strokes on each side, repeat 3 - 4 times 

then 2 strokes per side; repeat 2 - 3 times

then 1 stroke per side; repeat 1 - 2 times 

move from coarser to a finer stone 

Caution: Never apply oil to diamond surface,this could clogged pores and therefore cause unfunctionality. Clean it with water and wipe shavings away with a lint-free cloth. Rod should be completely dry before next use. 

Note: Read the instructions before use. Do not rush and pay attention to what you do. 
Knife sharpening is an inherently dangerous activity - if you use this sharpener properly you can not be hurt but a careless handling or pointed objects can hurt you.
