The Anorak Tracer jacket from the Polish company Helikon-Tex is the brand's very first anorak suitable for tactical use. This model is based on the popular civilian windbreaker Anorak Woodsman, but additionally comes in camouflage colors.
Compared to the civilian version of the wind jacket, the Helikon-Tex Anorak Tracer jacket also has shoulder and front pockets and more options for adjusting the fit. Another difference is the material used on the back, which is the same as the rest of the jacket. It is therefore not softshell like with the Woodsman jacket.
Helikon-Tex has prior experience in producing tactical equipment. The company understands the different needs of civilians and soldiers and adapts individual elements accordingly, including the mentioned back part, which for this anorak is made from the same material as the rest of the jacket. The entire jacket can thus come in a single camouflage pattern, reducing the likelihood of detection.
Because there is no softshell at the back, the manufacturer had to provide ventilation in another way. Specifically, with fully opening side zippers, allowing adjustable ventilation according to the wearer's current needs. These zippers also simplify putting the jacket on and taking it off.
Since this is a tactical gear item, this jacket can easily serve as a replacement for the upper part of a uniform or a tactical shirt. The anorak's cut is loose and oversize, so you can wear this piece of clothing over a fleece hoodie or another light jacket like the Helikon-Tex Wolfhound Hoodie. This way, you get the necessary camouflage regardless of what you're wearing underneath.
The loose cut of the Helikon-Tex Anorak Tracer jacket has another advantage, namely that this wind jacket can be worn by both men and women. You can easily adjust the jacket to the wearer's body with several adjustment points located at the edges of the hood, at the waist and at the very bottom. Just pick the right size and adjust the fit to your liking.
Since this is a unisex product, it is important to note that when choosing sizes, the jacket is tailored to men's sizes. If you are a woman or buying this jacket for a woman, just choose a jacket one size smaller (so a men's size S is a women's M). The manufacturer has tried to simplify the size selection process as much as possible.
Lastly, we must mention the well-designed pockets, of which this anorak has a total of eight. Two of these pockets are on the shoulders; they are zippered and are mainly used for situations when you wear a tactical vest over the anorak. Otherwise, you will use the front pockets, which consist of a larger main compartment, three inner pockets, and one on the top. Finally, there are pass-through pockets at the very bottom to warm your hands.
