Cerakote®

Cerakote treatment is a surface treatment of anything mainly made of metal – including weapons – which increases the overall resistance of surfaces to weather effects, but also to the effects of chemicals. It is one of the best solutions of its kind in the world.

The Cerakote^® brand is a world leader in the field of protective coatings based on ceramic composite polymers. And since this American manufacturer is also an important developer in this area, the term cerakote treatment became established for polymer-ceramic composite coatings.

Polymer-ceramic composite painting, which is the technical name by which we recognize cerakote treatment, improves the physical properties and increases the resistance of various materials treated with it to degradation. The unique technology increases, for example, resistance to abrasion, corrosion and the influence of chemical substances, but also toughness and hardness.

Thanks to the cerakote treatment, the individual products also experience higher thermal stability, at approximately the level of 400 to 600 °C. No competitive solution can match this. You will also appreciate the cerakote treatment when working with chemicals, because this solution increases the resistance of surfaces to, for example, acetone or acids. It also increases the stability of the surface when exposed to ultraviolet radiation (UV stability) and its overall lifespan.

The effect of the cerakote treatment is best manifested in metals such as stainless steel, but also aluminum. Cerakote treatment is often used to modify weapons, which does not degrade their primary function, but at the same time increases the resistance of their surface. But some manufacturers, such as Gatorz^® Eyewear, use them for other products as well, such as safety glasses and sunglasses in this particular case.

Cerakote^® coating is a subsidiary of the American company NIC Industries, Inc., which was founded in 1984 (that is, approximately four decades ago) with the aim of developing the best ceramic surface for various purposes. Cerakote^® brand products are popular with gun manufacturers, for example. So far, more than 90 ceramic colors and surfaces have been launched under the brand.
