ATA 300

The ATA 300 standard was developed by the international Air Transport Association (ATA) in order to establish standards for transport boxes and cases in air transport. This standard serves as a set of principles for shipping boxes used in the transport of various types of goods by air.

ATA 300 is a set of standards that was created primarily to minimize the risk of damage to the valuable contents of cases and luggage for professional air transport of goods (cargo).

At the same time, special emphasis was also placed on minimizing the weight and volume of these cases, because the capacity of airplanes is limited after all, and at the same time as the weight increases, so does the consumption and thus the cost of transportation. The ultimate goal is to reduce air freight costs.

The ATA 300 standards also specify how cases should be handled during loading and unloading, how individual cases meeting a certain level of the ATA 300 standard should be marked, and even what security features aviation transport cases should have in order to it came to a possible attempt at unauthorized intrusion.

ATA 300 are standards that govern the rules for commercial air transport of goods. Simply put, it tries to provide adequate protection with minimal packaging weight and standardized dimensions to save space in aircraft cargo spaces and ensure proper identification of containers and shipping cases.

This is precisely what is important, for example, when transporting weapons, ammunition and accessories, which are probably of most interest to us in our field. For individual cases, it is also determined how many times they are suitable for use, and these cases are divided into categories accordingly.

The ATA organization was founded in 1936 by a total of 14 airlines, with the aim of supporting members and promoting air transport among the public. For this purpose, from the beginning, it tried to standardize individual factors related to air transport.
