Polyethylene-vinyl acetate is also known by the abbreviation PEVA. It is an elastomeric polymer that produces materials that are very flexible, rubbery, and relatively soft. It differs from thermoplastics in that the material is cross-linked.
PEVA has excellent properties. The material itself is durable, glossy with a clean appearance. It resists stress, cracks, higher temperatures, has low-temperature toughness, withstands UV radiation, and features waterproof properties.
PEVA material is commonly found in the field of sports. It is used for hockey helmets and gloves, bicycle seats, fishing rods, shoes, ski boots. Military hydration packs are also made from this material.
