Back when A-TACS was producing the green variant of its legendary camouflage pattern Original A-TACS AU Camo™, it essentially had two options: the simpler variant was simply to take this original color type and recolor it to another hue. However, A-TACS never belonged to those who would seek cheap shortcuts for their products. Sure, it would work, but it's not the correct way to create an effective camouflage pattern for temperate climates. The characteristic elements of the given (slightly greener environment) must be taken into full account here. Thus, it was clear a completely new camouflage pattern had to be created once more "from the ground up."

This type combines numerous shades of green drawn directly from a variety of wooded and transitional areas and is subsequently combined with earth elements. The camouflage pattern Original A-TACS FG Camo™ is therefore effective in a wide range of temperate zone areas. And just like with Original A-TACS AU Camo™ (AU stands for Arid/Urban – meaning "arid land" and "urban area"), this camouflage pattern is arranged such that its micro-pixels are equally complex and create additional shapes even on a macro scale when you really observe it in practice.

Larger organic shapes and elements, along with strategically placed gray elements in the macro-pattern, help create a unique three-dimensional image, which was truly a personality and a uniqueness in the camouflage pattern industry, never before seen as a type of tactical camouflage.
