Footwear equipped with Gore-Tex^® Extended Comfort technology is ideal for warmer conditions and simultaneously suitable for above-average physical activity of the wearer, for example, for tactical missions in desert conditions.

The full name of the technology is “Gore-Tex^® Extended Comfort for desert operations and other warm climate scenarios," which translates to “extended comfort for desert operations and other scenarios in warm climates.”

What is Gore-Tex^®

The technology naturally utilizes the patented Gore-Tex^® membrane, which is a technical fabric reinforced with extreme heat. This fabric contains approximately 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square centimeter. These pores are about 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet, yet 700 times larger than a moisture molecule. You can infer the advantages of these properties yourself—indeed, such material remains waterproof while being breathable and able to wick moisture away from the foot.

The Extended Comfort variant includes an outer material with a protective knit over the Gore-Tex^® membrane, which protects against spills and commonly encountered chemicals. Below the membrane, towards the foot, there is a special inner lining.

For complete protection in the desert

If we consider the complications threatening our feet in the desert, excessive heat is the first that comes to mind. However, if that were all, classic tactical boots with ventilation openings and textile mesh for maximum breathability would suffice.

However, sand and dust can easily get into such boots. These have abrasive properties, so with foot movement inside the boot, they will sooner or later cause blisters, abrasions, and other skin damage, which can easily become inflamed by the dust. If you are in the desert for a military mission, such discomfort can significantly affect your ability to concentrate.
