Lansky Diamond Bench Stones are designed for professional sharpening of knives and maintaining woodworking tools. All benchstones have diamond surface for quick and efficient sharpening and high-quality plastic case, where the stone is stored for maximum safety. The benchstone is doublesided - green, medium side with grit 280, the blue fine side has grit 600. The base is non-slip and has screw holes for mounting on a workbench for example. These benchstones are ideal to any workshop, they find their use from repairing dull kitchen knives to woodworking chisels.
Step 1 - select the proper side of the stone for your edge
Step 2 - set the benchstone on a stable flat surface with selected stone facing up
Step 3 - observe the bevel angle you intend to sharpen; bring the edge to the stone matching the sharpening angle
Step 4 - push the edge across the stone in motion ((as if you were attempting to slice a thin layer off the top of the stone); use light moderate pressure and maintain a consistent angle for best results.
Step 5 - repeat motion 3 - 4 times, switch to the other side and repeat
Step 6 - repeat the process until the edge is sharp
Step 7 - clean stones with damp cloth ans store on a dry and cool place
Warning: Never apply oil to diamond surface as it could clogged it´s pores and become unfunctional. Clean it with water instead and wipe shavings away with lint-free cloth. The sharpener should be completely dry before next usage.
Note: Read the instructions before use. Do not rush and pay attention to what you do.
Knife sharpening is an inherently dangerous activity - if you use this sharpener properly you can not be hurt but a careless handling can hurt you.
