The Czech company Combat Systems also thinks about the details when manufacturing its tactical gear and equipment. Among them are these patches, which you can use to let those around you know your blood type. Patches are made according to the specifications of the Army of the Czech Republic.
At first glance, in this patch you will see "just" a camouflaged or plain surface with an inscription. But the moment you look at the patch with the night vision system, the underlying black material starts to glow, allowing for a clear identification of the wearer's blood type. The matte material reflects light with a wavelength in the frequency range of 3 to 12 µm and is thus compatible with most night vision devices with IR illumination.
Thanks to the special technology that the Combat Systems company uses during production (directly in the Czech Republic, by the way), the patches have a much longer lifespan. There is no risk of the cover foil peeling off, which would normally lead to irreversible damage to the IR sign. Velcro on the back of the patch allows it to be attached to various elements of tactical gear or clothing.
IR blood type patches from Combat Systems can withstand extreme temperatures (approx. from -40 °C to +90 °C), which means that they can be safely transported, for example, in unheated cargo spaces of airplanes.
Combat Systems uses laser cutting technology to produce its patches, so motives and text are cut directly into the fabric. This expands the possibilities of motives that can be used on patches. Of course, the material is Mil-Spec specification, which means meeting all the necessary standards for military use.
