Taran Tactical Innovations (TTI) is an American company specializing in weapon modifications, the development of tactical accessories and the production of a wide range of shooting products. The company was founded by Taran Butler, a world-renowned shooter and shooting instructor famous for his performances in shooting competitions.
This sight set was designed for Glock MOS pistols to ensure that the front sight and rear sight are preserved even when a reflex sight is mounted on the weapon. This sight set is absolute co-witness, with the red dot at the same level as the front sight.
The front sight from the sight set for Glock pistols by Taran Tactical, MOS Co-Witness, is 0.365" high and 0.124" wide. The rear sight is 0.375" high with a notch width of 0.125". These sight dimensions ensure perfect point of impact with Glock 17, 17L, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 34 and 35 pistols and significantly help when shooting at small targets and greater distances. The sight set is designed for Glock pistols with double-stack magazines.
The sights for Glock pistols by Taran Tactical, MOS Co-Witness, have the point of aim/point of impact set at 13.7 meters, specifically for full-size Glock pistols and using ammunition with a bullet weight of 124 grains. If you install these sights on a Glock pistol of a different size (compact, sub-compact, etc.), the point of aim/point of impact will change because the ratio between the front sight and rear sight will be altered. Therefore, it is important to thoroughly test this solution and determine the point of aim/point of impact for your weapon and remember it. It is also necessary to consider the type of ammunition, the type of gunpowder, and the bullet weight you are using. All these factors affect the bullet's trajectory.
The sights for Glock pistols by Taran Tactical, MOS Co-Witness, were designed according to the specifications of Taran Butler and Robert Vogel, who aimed to achieve the optimal sight picture and the brightest fiber optic front sight point possible. To achieve this, Taran and Vogel moved the fiber optic to the very top of the front sight. They found this solution because some shooters are confused by the large black area between the fiber optic and the top of the front sight, causing them to overshoot or undershoot the target.
The fiber optic of the front sight is not embedded into the body of the sight as with solutions from other manufacturers. This allows the fiber to absorb more light and makes the front sight point brighter. The front sight has a stainless steel mounting screw in the center, with its shiny head reflecting even more light directly into the center of the fiber optic.
As a bonus, the front sight is designed to be compatible with the factory Glock mounting screw in case the original front sight screw is lost. The front part of the rear sight allows for emergency slide racking with one hand against a belt, shoe edge or other objects.
The serrations on the rear sight reduce glare. Both the front sight and rear sight are machined from stainless steel with a Diamond Black Ion Bond coating (hardness of 95 Rockwell) for the highest level of corrosion resistance and the most durable finish.
