The Solkoa FastStrike fire starting set belongs to the most effective products on the market. It is easy to ignite, burns with a steady high temperature flame for a relatively long time. Take a bunch of these cubes on your adventure to start a fire in any situation.
It is said, that the right bushcrafter should be able to start a fire with no more than 2 matches. Nevertheless, there are situations when you need to build a quick and reliable source of heat. FastStrike is easy to ignite using flint and steel, matches or a lighter. Due to the low flashpoint it catches spark in an instant and burns quickly with a 700 °C flame. It comes in individually wrapped 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm cubes. Each cube lasts about 10 to 12 minutes. But normally you will not need that many. If you are making a fire from regular dry wood, you can split the cube into smaller pieces which will burn for about 2 to 3 minutes. The fire starter is virtually smokeless and odourless. This, among other things, will be easy on the bottom of your mess kit, if you use it for emergency cooking. The flame is stable, resisting wind and rain. Should you not use the entire cube at once, it cools down very quickly when extinguished.
