Arkansas Sharpening Stone consists of a sedimentation rock of novaculite known as Arkansas Stone. It is excellent for sharpening fixed blade knives but also folding knives, hunting and fishing knives and others. It is also great for cutting tools for gardening or woodworking or for maintenance of industrial cutting tool.
Step 1 - select the proper side of the stone
soft – for maintaining of already sharp edge
hard – for polishing of finished edge
Step 2 - set a stone on a stable flat surface
Step 3 - apply few drops of Nathan´s Honing Oil (opptional but
recommended)
Step 4 - observe the bevel angle you intend to sharpen; bring the edge to
the stone matching your sharpening angle and push the edge off the blade across
the stone in one motion (jlike trying to slice a thin layer of the top of
the stone); maintaining a consistent angle for best results.
Step 5 - repeat 3 - 4 times then switch to other side and
repeat
Step 6 - repeat until the edge is sharp
Step 7 - clean stone after each use and store in cool dry place
Note: Read the instructions before use. Do not rush and pay attention to what you do. Knife sharpening is an inherently dangerous activity - if you use this sharpener properly you can not be hurt but a careless handling or pointed objects can hurt you.
