After filleting the fish or when cutting, the knives may become dull very quickly. Quick Edge Fillet & Bait Knife keep such knives sharp or make them sharp again just by few passes. The sharpening angles are pre-set to 22,5° to achieve 45° angle.
Step 1 - grasp the sharpener, fingers inside the finger guard, thumb resting against the thumb guard
Step 2 - place the knife on a flat, solid surface with cutting edge up. Let about 1/2 of the blade extend beyonf the edge of the surface (table for example); hold the knife firmly wit one hand and start to sharpen with the other.
Step 3 - place the "V" over the blade by the end, where it joins the handle; hold the sharpener at 90° (more or less) to the blade – greater angle will result in poor sharpening– and draw the sharpener towards the tipm of the knife; tungsten carbide will gradually remove metal from the blade, thus making it sharp; repeat 3 - 4 times, using light pressure
Step 4 – thoroughly clean the knife blade
It does not matter whether you are right or left-handed.
Note:
Read the instructions before use. Do not rush and pay attention to
what you do.
Knife sharpening is an inherently dangerous activity - if you use this
sharpener properly you can not be hurt but a careless handling or pointed objects can hurt you.
